Read Travelogue Bali: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3

hi guys, this is the last post of my bali journey ):
but fret not! there will be one more beach getaway post (psssst it’s phuket) coming soon HEHE.
and i’m hoping to find the motivation to do up my bali trip video. can’t find the mood to do it!!! T.T
here’s a swimming pool view of the hotel!

those were actually taken by my dad hehe. so anyways, on the last day, edmund and i asked agus a favour to drive us to this secret gem everyone is raving about – revolver coffee house! we talked to the waitress and actually found out that it’s owned by an australian from sydney. almost like the cafe i’m working at currently, just that it’s more towards the melbourne side since our owner is melbournian. so anyways, the good thing about cafes in bali is that they are FREAKING CHEAP. so much cheaper than sg’s. sg is like an avg of 30sgd/pax? over here is merely 10sgd/pax. which is so affordable for quality cafe food. however the downside is that their portion is pretty small ): so… give and take guys!!!

BEST FRIES MAN! it’s so crispy and salty hahahaha i love it.
they don’t have it in their menu though so just let them know that you want a bowl of fries and they’ll charge accordingly for you ;)

visuals from 2 months back (it’s already june. how time flies!!!). we were supposed to be going to st john’s island but we couldn’t make it in time (overslept + crazy jam) ))): so we ended up doing some kite flying at marina barrage. nevertheless it was a good date out with edmund <3

DSC02137

DSC02132

the night before we made our own pasta salad. and it was really good! you just need to add some olive oil, lemon juice, ham and some of your favourite spices/seasonings into your penne and you’re good to go!

DSC02134

DSC02138

DSC02139

our ladybug kite was flying at its highest and no one could beat it muahahaha ^_^

DSC02148

DSC02157

so after getting baked in the sunnnnnn, we headed to marina square to have steak at hippopotamus restaurant grill!
this was recommended to us by a chef-colleague of ours so we decided to give it a try :3

hey,

so continuing our second part of cafe hopping after having our healthy lunch at living café, we headed to necessary provisions for a good cup of coffee + tea snacks! since it was my first time here, it was nice just getting absorbed into the atmosphere of the place and also just admiring the little trinkets that were behind our table.

DSC01951

we ordered ice latte, flat white and two desserts (sorry i forgot what dessert are those))):) to share.
oh and notice the conical flask on the right? it’s actually sugar syrup for my latte! its unique right? hehehe.

read travelogue: macau

lei hou!!!

i’m here to greet you with a delicious bowl of spicy beef rice bowl with the most perfect sunny side up ever at Sun Kee Cheese Noodle :O this was after we took a ferry back to hk from macau so we had to have our dinner in Tsim Tsa Shui!!!while others ate their famous cheese noodles, i decided to have their beef rice bowl. it was super good but its FREAKING SPICYYYYYYY )))): i thought i’ve “level-ed up” my spiciness game but this is no joke. i couldn’t even finish the rice cos the spiciness was too intense for me to handle hahaha. but overall it was really delish :3

after which, we headed to our hotel at Royal Plaza Hotel. a really decent and clean hotel with a modern interior, but nothing as compared to the one we stayed in macau ): there’s actually a heated swimming pool in this place! too bad we didn’t try it out during our stay there.

IMG_6406

the next day we went to have our breakfast at Australia Dairy Co.!!! they serve the best scrambled eggs ever!!!?! it was damn delicious. there was a buttery taste and it has the right amount of “QQ” texture and creaminess to it. however, before you actually eat those delicious eggs, be informed that you might have to queue for 10-20mins depending on the crowd. but i promise, it’ll be worth it!

IMG_6411

while queueing, fei bought for us milk from the cafe itself. pretty ordinary tho.

IMG_6418

their steamed egg white milk pudding (left) and steamed milk custard (if i’m not wrong?) (right)

IMG_6423

macaroni soup with ham slices *slurrrrrrrrrps*

IMG_6424

TOAST AND PERFECT SCRAMBLED EGGS!
i added sugar on my toast and it was a good combination. you should try it out too! ;)

after our breakfast, we headed over to ngong ping for some sightseeing via their mtr. overall i think that there’s nth much to see other than the big buddha (which i didn’t go cos my legs were hurting sigh) and the cable car ride up the hills. but nevertheless, we took lots of photos since the scenery is good hehe.

IMG_6435

IMG_6437

dan (middle) was damn freaking scared of cable car rides/anything that has to do with heights

YUMMMMMMMMY WANTON MEEEEEEEE. wow the qq noodles, tasty soup and the juicy prawns are totally worth coming here. its about 4sgd for this small portion but you would definitely crave for another bowl after you’ve eaten a whole bowl of this.
JUST LOOK AT THE GLISTENING BOWL OF NOODLES *\O.O/*

IMG_6472

only after eating at this place then i realised that the wanton mee here is actually famous! so give it a go when you’re in hk :)

NEXT DAY. we went to tim ho wan!!! JUST LOOK AT THE QUEUE -_- sigh.
but good things come to those who wait :)

IMG_6504

LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF FOOD WE ORDERED hehe. worth it tho. the price is really affordable, i couldn’t rmb how much but maybe less than 15sgd per person?! thats a great deal for a michelin star restaurant and definitely cannot be compared to sg’s franchise of THW.

so guys, this is pretty much it. the next day we went to shop at causeway bay, fa yuen street (great shopping for girls) and also, ladies market! after that we just had dinner, grabbed our luggages and camped in the airport till dawn and came back to sunny, humid singapore ):

till next time guys! will be continuing my cafe hopping post which was weeks/months ago. hehe

Well for me, I just stood afar and made some silly poses ^_^

DSC00673

There were many tourists in this geopark that it wasn’t a very enjoyable experience. But yes, at least I got to see many sceneries and natural rock formations that Singapore doesn’t have.

Doesn’t this remind you of the tunnel of spirited away? The whole time this whole place just reminds me of japanese towns that you see in animes. Prob because tw was ruled by them once during the japanese occupation..

DSC00846TO DIE FOR: PEANUT ICE CREAM!

DSC00853

DSC00858This are yam balls! It’s pretty popular so everyone should try their “or ni” out! Comes in green bean or red bean soup base~

After dinner we went to Shifen to release lanterns with our wishes on the train tracks! But I guess this is getting too commercialised that the people who work there just wants your money hahaha

So this marks the end of my Taiwan trip! I really hope to head back here again for the third time to tour the suburbs of Taiwan :)
andddd as I’m typing this, there might be more trips to come! I’m so excited I can’t wait huehuehue ^_^

travelogue taiwan day 4: shilin night market

with one comment

Read Travelogue Taiwan: Day 1/2 | Day 3
Watch: Taipei Vlog | Tea House Experience

On day 4.. It was such a pity because “aunt flo” came and visit me. As usual, I had cramps so bad that I couldn’t leave the hostel and visit other places with my friends ))))))))))))’: So I stayed in the hostel the whole afternoon and chit-chatted with the people working there as well as the other fellow tourists! I must say that all of them are really friendly so I wasn’t bored the whole time when I was just sitting around the house!

So when they came back from beitou for hot spring (JEALOUS!), we headed to our second apartment and had dinner at Shilin night market which is just a street down from our place :3

DSC00528

大肠包小肠!!! YUMMY ^_^

DSC00530

DSC00531

Fried Oyster! I prefer SG version of fried oyster cos tw’s is sweeter but sg’s saltier hehe

DSC00535

SUPER FRESH OYSTER MEE SUA! I don’t normally eat oysters but THISSS IS SO GOOD! They are really generous with their oysters too :)

Well in terms of my own opinion, I would much rather go for the night maket in Raohe rather than Shilin. Shilin is more overrated than Raohe for their food but shilin definitely has more things to shop (clothes, accesories, souveniers etc). So YUP! Just a quick update :) The last day (most fulfilling one) is coming up soon!!
